Frequently Asked
Questions
How Plaudipus works, what the plans include, and what happens to your recordings.
What is Plaudipus?
Plaudipus turns meeting recordings into written minutes. You upload audio or record straight from your browser, and you get back a transcript with timestamps, a summary covering the key points and decisions, and a list of action items with owners — usually within a few minutes.
Which languages does it handle?
Bahasa Indonesia and English, including meetings where both are used in the same sentence. That mixing is the normal case here, not an edge case, and the system is set up for it.
Summaries are always written in English, whatever language the meeting was in, so notes can be shared with anyone who needs to read them. The transcript stays in the language that was actually spoken.
What audio files can I upload?
MP3, M4A, WAV, OGG, WebM and FLAC, up to 300 MB per file. Voice memos from a phone work well — that's what most recordings are. If a recording carries the date it was made in its file metadata, Plaudipus uses that as the meeting date rather than the date you uploaded it.
How long does processing take?
Roughly a few minutes for a typical meeting; longer recordings take proportionally longer. A progress indicator shows which stage it's on. Meetings are processed one at a time, so if you upload several at once the later ones queue.
How accurate is it?
Good, but not perfect, and it degrades with the audio. A phone on a table in a quiet room is fine. A noisy café, people talking over each other, or a microphone across the room will cost you accuracy — particularly on names and numbers.
Because of that, every summary is editable. If a name is mis-transcribed you can correct it directly, and on Pro you can name each speaker once and have it applied throughout. Treat the output as a strong first draft you own, not a court transcript.
How does pricing work?
There is no subscription. You buy minutes, and they stay in your account until you spend them. A 45-minute meeting costs 45 minutes, counted from the actual length of the recording.
There are two separate balances. Standard transcription is the everyday one. Speaker separation runs on a different, considerably more expensive engine, so it has its own balance rather than quietly draining the first — you choose per meeting which one to use.
| Balance | Pack | Price | Per minute | Roughly |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | 1.000 minutes | Rp 59.000 | Rp 59 | 16 hours |
| Standard | 3.000 minutes | Rp 149.000 | Rp 50 | 50 hours |
| Standard | 10.000 minutes | Rp 449.000 | Rp 45 | 166 hours |
| Speaker names | 300 minutes | Rp 89.000 | Rp 297 | 5 hours |
| Speaker names | 1.000 minutes | Rp 269.000 | Rp 269 | 16 hours |
Every new account starts with 60 standard and 20 speaker minutes free, no card required.
Do minutes expire?
No. There is no monthly reset and nothing to use up before a deadline. Minutes you buy stay in your account until you spend them, whether that takes a week or a year. If you have a quiet month, nothing is lost.
Settings shows both balances and a line-by-line history of every minute added and spent.
What happens if I run out of minutes?
New uploads on that balance are declined until you buy more. We measure the file before processing starts, so you're told immediately what it would cost and by how much you're short — you'll never have a meeting half-processed and then cut off.
Because the two balances are separate, running out of speaker minutes doesn't stop you recording normally. Everything already in your account stays accessible either way.
Can it tell who said what?
Yes, if you choose it for that meeting. Selecting speaker names at upload separates the transcript by speaker and lets you put real names to each voice, which then appear throughout the transcript and in action-item owners. It draws on your speaker-minute balance rather than your standard one.
Standard transcription gives you a single continuous transcript with timestamps but no speaker labels. You can still assign owners to action items yourself. It's worth reserving speaker names for meetings where it genuinely matters — a one-on-one rarely needs it, a six-person planning session usually does.
Do you use my recordings to train AI?
No. Your recordings and transcripts are not used to train any model, ours or anyone else's, and are not shared with other users. Audio is sent to specialist third-party services purely to be transcribed and summarised on our behalf; they are listed by name in the Privacy Policy.
How long do you keep my audio?
7 days after upload, for every account, after which the audio file is deleted permanently and cannot be recovered. Your transcript and summary are kept for as long as your account is open — the notes are the point, and they take almost no space. You can delete any meeting, including its audio, yourself at any time.
Can I get my data out?
Yes. Any meeting can be copied as clean formatted text or exported as a PDF. If you want a complete export of everything in your account, email us and we'll arrange it.
What happens if I delete my account?
Your recordings, transcripts and summaries are deleted permanently and cannot be recovered, and any unused minutes are forfeited — so spend them first. We keep a one-way cryptographic fingerprint of your email address — not the address itself — so that the same person cannot collect the free starting minutes repeatedly by deleting and re-registering. It cannot be reversed back into your email and is used for nothing else. This is explained further in the Privacy Policy.
How does business card scanning work?
Photograph a card from the Contacts page — on a phone the camera opens directly, on a desktop you can drop in an image file. Plaudipus reads the name, title, company, phone numbers, email, website and address in a couple of seconds and shows them to you to check. Scanning misreads a digit or a name now and then, so nothing is saved until you confirm it.
Saved contacts download as a .vcf file that imports straight into iPhone, Android, Outlook or Google Contacts — one contact at a time, or your whole list in a single file.
The card photo is never stored. It is read and then discarded immediately; only the details you confirm are kept, in your own private list.
What does scanning a card cost?
The first 25 cards each month are free. After that it costs one standard minute per card. The free allowance resets on the 1st of each month — your minutes themselves still never expire. A card we cannot read is not charged.
How do contacts connect to my meetings?
When you name a speaker in a meeting, Plaudipus checks your contacts for a match — name a speaker "Ivan" and it will ask whether that is Ivan Hartanto from your contact list. Confirm, and the meeting shows who they are with a one-tap .vcf download, while their full name, job title and company are passed to the summariser as authoritative. That tends to improve how accurately actions get attributed.
Suggestions are never applied by themselves, because two people really do share a first name.
Can I install it like an app?
Yes. Plaudipus works as a progressive web app — your browser will offer to install it, and it then opens in its own window on desktop or from your home screen on a phone.
Can I get a refund?
We refund duplicate charges, minutes paid for but never added, and demonstrable technical faults on our side, if you contact us within 7 days. We don't refund minutes you've already spent. Since minutes never expire, there's no deadline pressure to buy more than you need. Full detail is in the Refund Policy.
How do I get an account?
Plaudipus is in private beta. Join the waitlist from the home page and we'll send credentials when we approve your place. If you need access sooner, contact us and tell us a little about your use case.
Still stuck?
Email us and a person will read it — usually replying within one business day.
