Terms and Conditions
These terms govern your use of Plaudipus. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.

1. Who we are
Plaudipus ("we", "us", "our") is a meeting transcription and summarisation service operated from Jakarta, Indonesia. You can reach us at admin@plaudipus.com or through our Contact page.
2. Your account
Plaudipus is currently offered by invitation from a waitlist. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to hold an account.
You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for everything done through your account. Accounts are for a single person — don't share credentials. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed by someone else.
You must give accurate registration information and keep it current. We may suspend or close accounts that provide false information, or that are used to circumvent limits — including creating multiple accounts to obtain the free starting minutes more than once.
3. Consent to record — your responsibility
This is the most important clause in these terms. You are solely responsible for having the legal right to record every meeting you upload, and for obtaining the consent of everyone recorded where the law requires it.
Recording laws vary by country and by context, and can carry criminal as well as civil consequences. Plaudipus does not obtain consent on your behalf and cannot verify that you have it. By uploading a recording, you confirm that you have the necessary rights and permissions, and that doing so does not breach any law, contract, confidentiality obligation, or employer policy that applies to you.
You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from recordings you upload without the necessary rights or consent.
4. Minutes and payment
The service is prepaid. There is no subscription and no recurring charge. You buy minutes, and they are spent as you process meetings. Current pack prices are shown on our FAQ and in the app.
- Two separate balances. Standard transcription and speaker separation are metered and sold separately, because they run on different engines at materially different cost. One minute of either balance processes one minute of audio, measured from the actual duration of the recording. You choose which balance an upload draws on, and the cost is shown before processing begins. Minutes in one balance cannot be transferred to the other.
- Minutes do not expire. Minutes remain available in your account until they are spent. There is no monthly reset, no rollover limit, and no deadline by which they must be used.
- Free minutes. New accounts receive a one-time allocation of free minutes in both balances. This is granted once per email address and is not repeated if an account is closed and re-registered.
- Running out. When your balance is lower than the cost of an upload, that upload is declined. We measure the file before processing begins, so you are told the cost and the shortfall immediately rather than partway through. Exhausting one balance does not affect the other.
- Charging. Minutes are deducted once transcription completes. A meeting that fails to process is not charged. Deleting a meeting after it has been processed does not return the minutes it used.
- Payment. Minutes are paid for in advance in Indonesian Rupiah through our payment provider; available payment methods are shown at checkout. Prices are inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise at the point of sale.
- Minutes have no cash value. They cannot be exchanged for money, transferred between accounts or between balances, or redeemed other than by using the service, except where we issue a refund under the Refund Policy.
- Closing your account. Unused minutes are forfeited when an account is deleted and are not restored if you register again with the same address.
Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy. We may change pack prices at any time; minutes already in your account are unaffected by a later price change, and keep the value they had when purchased.
5. Acceptable use
You may not use Plaudipus to:
- Record or process audio you have no legal right to record
- Process audio obtained through interception, surveillance, or deception
- Infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy, or confidentiality
- Upload unlawful content, or content designed to harass, defame, or endanger anyone
- Attempt to breach, probe, overload, or reverse-engineer the service or its infrastructure
- Resell or redistribute the service, or use it to build a competing product
- Circumvent minute charges, the free-minute allocation, or access controls by any means
- Use automated means to access the service other than as we expressly permit
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach this section, and where the breach is serious, we may do so without prior notice.
6. Who owns what
Your content is yours. You retain all rights in the audio you upload and in the transcripts, summaries and notes generated from it. We claim no ownership of it.
You grant us a limited licence to store, process and transmit your content solely to provide the service to you — including sending audio to the third-party processors named in our Privacy Policy. This licence exists only to run the service and ends when you delete the content or close your account. We do not use your content to train artificial-intelligence models, ours or anyone else's.
The Plaudipus software, interface, branding and underlying systems remain ours. Nothing in these terms transfers them to you.
7. AI output — accuracy and how to treat it
Transcripts and summaries are produced by automated speech recognition and language models. They will contain errors, and accuracy varies considerably with recording quality, accents, background noise, overlapping speech, and technical vocabulary. Names, figures and dates are particularly prone to being misheard.
Output is provided as a working draft. You are responsible for reviewing it before relying on it, and you should not treat it as a verbatim record, a legal transcript, or professional advice of any kind. Do not use it as the sole basis for any decision with legal, financial, medical or employment consequences. Every summary is editable so you can correct what the system got wrong.
8. Availability
We aim to keep Plaudipus running reliably but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may suspend it for maintenance, and we depend on third-party providers whose interruptions can affect us.
The service is in private beta, which means features may change, be added, or be withdrawn as it develops.
9. Keep your own copies
Plaudipus is not a backup service. Audio files are deleted automatically 7 days after upload, and no system is immune to data loss. Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose. You can export any meeting as text or PDF at any time.
10. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, for loss of profit, revenue, data or goodwill, or for any loss arising from your reliance on the accuracy of a transcript or summary.
Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or Rp 1.000.000, whichever is greater.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Consumer rights that apply to you under Indonesian law are not affected.
11. Ending the agreement
You may stop using Plaudipus and delete your account at any time from your account page. Deletion removes your recordings, transcripts and summaries permanently — see the Privacy Policy for the limited information we retain afterwards and why.
We may suspend or terminate your account for a material breach of these terms, for unlawful use, or if required by law. Where reasonable and lawful, we will give you notice and an opportunity to export your content first. Unused minutes are forfeited on termination for breach.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service develops. The "last updated" date above always reflects the current version. For material changes affecting your rights, we will give reasonable notice by email or in the app. Continuing to use Plaudipus after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia, and the courts of Jakarta have jurisdiction over any dispute. Before starting formal proceedings, please contact us — most problems are faster to fix directly.
